The question of who I’ll be supporting to replace me on the City Council has come up on numerous occasions. I’ve made a conscious decision to support Ray Ruby.
I hadn’t intended to endorse anyone until I met Ray. His energy and sincerity with regard to representing District 4 struck me as genuine, not motivated by intent to use the position to catapult himself to higher office. Rather, he truly wants to take up where I left off in representing the constituents I’ve served for so many years.
Ray understands the importance of our neighborhoods, schools and open space. I’m impressed with the fresh, open-minded approach he’ll take on issues, as well as with his listening skills and the way he connects to people.
Given what I see, know and feel, Ray Ruby’s my choice for District 4 city councilor. I urge my constituents to join me in supporting him.
