Rumford door to door solicitations

Rumford residents will vote on whether to pass an ordinance regulating door-to-door sales and solicitation, and requiring sellers to obtain a permit from the chief of police.

Voting "Yes" Means:

The town would establish guidelines regulating door-to-door sales; requiring fees for sellers and their employers, and for permits to be obtained; and restricting solicitation between the hours 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. and on Sundays.

Voting "No" Means:

The town would not establish new guidelines under the hawkers and peddlers ordinance to regulate door-to-door sales.
