Top Three Priorities

My top three priorities are addressing housing and homelessness, responsible and transparent use of taxpayer dollars, and strengthening public safety while supporting economic development. The next council must work together. It is time to put the 10% of things we disagree on aside and focus on the 90% we can accomplish together.

Why are you running?

I’m running because I believe Bangor needs a fresh perspective and a council that listens, works together, and puts Bangor first. Throughout this campaign, I’ve met with residents, city employees, community leaders, and local businesses to better understand our challenges and opportunities. I want to bring that experience, a willingness to learn, and a practical approach to the City Council.

What is the biggest challenge facing your town/county? The biggest opportunity?

Bangor’s biggest challenge is addressing homelessness and our shortage of affordable housing while maintaining the services residents depend on. Our biggest opportunity is bringing people and communities together to find practical, regional solutions. Bangor is the region’s hub, and putting Bangor first doesn’t mean we can’t ask for help. It means working with others to build a stronger future for our city.

If you could change one thing about how the town/county functions, what would it be and why?

I would improve communication and cooperation between the City Council, city staff, and the community. Good government starts with listening and making sure people understand how decisions are made. I would also encourage the council to focus more on areas of common ground. We may disagree on some things, but we can accomplish more when we work together.

Do you support more development – i.e. more housing construction and business building in your town/county? Why or why not?

Yes. Bangor needs more housing and responsible economic development. We should make it easier to build housing, support local businesses, and attract new investment while making sure development fits our neighborhoods and infrastructure. Growth should be intentional, not growth for growth’s sake. A stronger tax base and more housing can help Bangor address its challenges and create opportunities for residents, including allowing younger people to stay in the city they grew up in.
