Tom Lishness of Windsor, otherwise known as “The Gnome,” and Russell Orms of Austin, Texas, costumed as The Viking, compete in the powerboat division of the annual Pumpkinfest Regatta in Damariscotta on Monday.
Todd Sandstrom of Easton, Mass., paddles, with Alice Bean of Brunswick behind him, during the paddleboatrace. In addition to the paddleboat division, there was also a powerboat division, where giant pumpkins were outfitted with outboard motors.
Jaja Martin of Bremen joyfully paddles during the regatta. Hundreds of spectators lined the wharf behind Main Street and others watched a video broadcast of the event in comfort nearby in the Lincoln Theater.
