Empty and abandoned residential buildings in Lewiston
A nine-unit apartment building in downtown Lewiston that burned on Monday, April 30 was the latest structure to be added to a growing list of condemned properties in the city. Currently, 69 buildings have been condemned, and in the last two years, fifteen have been torn down at the city's expense. The blighted, vacant structures are a visible symbol of the economic turmoil faced by tenants and landlords in the former mill town.
