WESTON, Mass. —A young moose that thrilled Boston area residents when it was spotted trotting down streets in two densely populated suburbs earlier this month has apparently been struck by a vehicle and killed.
A spokeswoman for state Environmental Police says the moose was struck in Weston at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Interstates 90 and 95. It had to be euthanized.
The driver was not hurt, but the vehicle’s hood, windshield and roof were damaged.
