The Canton Charge (10-11) opened with a 13-2 run and didn’t let up as they defeated the Maine Red Claws 105-93 for their fifth straight win at the Portland Expo.
John Holland and Christiano Felicio, both on assignment from the Chicago Bulls, led the first quarter run.
The Red Claws got back into the game as Jordan Mickey, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, and Malcolm Miller answered with a 13-5 run and Maine trailed 25-21 after one quarter.
The second quarter started similarly with the Charge starting with a 10-2 run to take a 12-point lead.
The deficit grew to a high of 17 points but the Claws closed the half on a 9-0 run to trail 50-43.
Maine (12-9) continued to battle but couldn’t hold back Canton’s offense.
Quinn Cook led six Charge players in double figures with 25 points.
Miller led the Red Claws with a career-high 23 points, and Mickey finished with his 14th career double-double, with 13 points, 12 boards and eight blocks.
