SCARBOROUGH – Mary G. Burnham, 92, died peacefully on Oct. 9, 2023.

She was the only child of Linwood L. and Nettie F. (Foss) Garey of Limerick. Mary attended schools in Limerick and Portland and was a 1951 graduate of Deering High School.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Linwood E. Burnham. They resided and worked in Portland for many years, until moving to Piper Shores in Scarborough upon its opening. Mary and Linwood also enjoyed many summers at their cottage at Little Ossipee Lake in Waterboro.

Mary was a supervisor of the Enrollment Department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and was also employed at the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine. She served as a Treasurer of Portland Assembly #1, Order of Rainbow for Girls, as well as a lifetime member of Eastern Star – Deering Chapter #59, the Women’s Woodfords Club, Beta Sigma Phi.

Her family would like to thank all of the staff at Piper Shores who cared for her.

At Mary’s request, a private memorial service was held at Hobbs Funeral Home in Scarborough.
