John George Schuettinger Jr.

BRIDGTON – John George Schuettinger Jr., passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 at the age of 77, in the presence of his family at Stephens Memorial in Norway. He is survived by his beloved wife Anne Schuettinger, his two sons John Schuettinger III and Daniel Schuettinger, his sister Doris Groner, his daughter-in-law Danielle Henry, and his grandsons John Schuettinger IV and Henry Schuettinger. John was preceded in death by his father John Schuettinger Sr, mother Doris Schuettinger, and sisters Carol Kilminster-Travers, and Joann Schuettinger.

John was born Aug. 9, 1946, in Jamaica, N.Y., and spent his childhood in Garden City, N.Y. In his young adulthood he found himself working in Denmark, Maine and fell in love with the Lakes Region. Upon moving to Bridgton with wife Anne they started their family, and he opened his own electrical contracting business, All Service Electric, which he would run until his retirement in 2012. Aside from serving the area’s electrical needs he was very active in the Bridgton Community, acting as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 149, chairman of the Bridgton Appeals Board, Bridgton Lions Club, and the 4 on the Fourth race which benefits the Bridgton Public Library, among other outreach endeavors. In his free time he enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family, cooking and baking gourmet cuisine, and reading mystery novels.

A viewing will be held at the Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road in Casco, on Saturday October 21 from 4-6 p.m. John’s Celebration of Life will take place at the First Congregational Church of Bridgton on Sunday, October 22 at 3 p.m. A reception will follow.
