Damien Jones and Nathan Delgado both rushed for two touchdowns in the first half and the University of New England football team cruised to a 31-14 win over Castleton on Saturday in Biddeford.

Quarterback Jarrett Henault was 14 for 19 pass for 150 yards, while rushing eight times for 81 yards for UNE (4-1). The Nor’easters rushed for 152 yards. Gavin Anderson had eight receptions for 66 yards.

Castleton falls to 2-3.

MIDDLEBURY 34, BOWDOIN 27: Cole Kennon threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Wood midway through the third quarter as the Panthers (2-1) took the lead for good and the Polar Bears (2-1) in Middlebury, Vermont.

Kennon was 21 for 41 passing for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

Andrew Boel completed 32 of 52 passes for 417 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Bowdoin. He also rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown.

COLBY 30, BATES 24: Keon Smart rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and caught six passes for 118 yards and a score in the Mules (1-2) win over the Bobcats (0-3) in Bates.

Colton Bosselait completed 28 of 49 passes for 312 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for Bates.

(1) GEORGIA 27, AUBURN 20: With Georgia’s No. 1 ranking and lengthy winning streak on the line, Brock Bowers caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Carson Beck in the final minutes and the Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) beat the Tigers (3-2, 0-2) in Auburn, Alabama.

The Bulldogs made it the Beck-and-Bowers show in the fourth quarter to bail out of another slow start and SEC scare.

Bowers caught a dart for Beck coming over the middle, shook off a couple of defenders and ran away from a third on his way to the end zone against the Tigers  with 2:52 left. The All-America tight end had four catches for 121 yards in the fourth quarter and converted a third-and-long to keep the go-ahead drive alive.

(2) MICHIGAN 45, NEBRASKA 7: J.J. McCarthy passed for two touchdowns to Roman Wilson and ran for another, and the Wolverines (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) rolled past the Cornhuskers (2-3, 0-2) in record heat in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Michigan made fast work of the Cornhuskers, scoring on its first three possessions and leading 28-0 at half.

The Wolverines came in having allowed a nation-low 5.8 points per game, and they held the Huskers) scoreless until the final five minutes.

(3) TEXAS 40, (24) KANSAS 14: Jonathon Brooks rushed for 217 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Longhorns (5-0, 2-0 Big 12)  to a win in Austin, Texas, over the Jayhawks (4-1, 1-1), who lost standout quarterback Jalon Daniels in pregame warmups with back stiffness.

Quinn Ewers passed for 325 yards and ran 30 yards for the game’s first score. Texas also got another standout game from its defense, which has surrendered just three touchdowns in the past three games.

Brooks’ first touchdown came on a 54-yard ru n. His second came after Texas recovered a fourth-down fumble, putting the Longhorns ahead 26-14 late in the third quarter.

Texas finished with 336 yards rushing and 661 yards overall, and wore down Kansas in the second half. The Longhorns blew the game open in the fourth quarter with Ewer’s touchdown pass to Adonai Mitchell and the quarterback’s second touchdown run.

(6) PENN STATE 41, NORTHWESTERN 13: Drew Allar threw for a touchdown and ran for one, and the Nittany Lions (5-0, 3-0 Bit Ten) beat the Wildcats (2-3, 1-2) in Evanston, Illinois.

The Nittany Lions buried the Wildcats in the second half, scoring 17 in the third quarter to break open a game that was tied at 10 at halftime, and won their 10th in a row since losing to Ohio State last October.

(8) USC 48, COLORADO 41: Caleb Williams threw for 403 yards and tied a career high with six touchdown passes as the Trojans (5-0, 3-0 Pac-12) held off the Buffaloes (3-2, 0-2) in Boulder, Colorado after racing out to a big lead.

Leading 34-7 in the second quarter, the Trojans saw Colorado storm back to make it a one-score game with 1:43 remaining on Shedeur Sanders’ 16-yard TD strike to Jimmy Horn Jr. The Trojans recovered the onside-kick attempt and Williams kneeled three times to close out the win.

The Trojans improved to 17-0 all-time against the Buffaloes, who were knocked off for a second straight week after a 3-0 start that made Deion Sanders’ team the biggest story in college football.

KENTUCKY 33, (22) FLORIDA 14: Ray Davis rushed for a career-high 280 yards and scored four touchdowns, including three in the first half, as the Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 SEC) overwhelmed the Gators (3-2, 1-1), in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) turned a matchup considered critical toward establishing an East Division challenger behind top-ranked Georgia into a rout before halftime thanks to Davis’ dominant day.

BOSTON COLLEGES 27, VIRGINIA 24: Liam Connor kicked a 42-yard field goal with 2:11 remaining and the Eagles (2-3, 1-2 ACC) rallied with 20 points in the second half to beat the Cavaliers (0-5, 0-2) in Boston.
