WESTBROOK – Barbara Ann (Farrell) Somma, passed away April 9, 2020, at her home in Garner, N.C. following a brief illness.

Barbara was born, March 16, 1932 in Westbrook to William and Helen Farrell. Barbara grew up in Westbrook, graduated from Westbrook High School. She worked at H.P. Hood, where she met and married Samuel Joseph Somma and raised two sons, Shawn and Patrick Somma. She lived in Maine the majority of her life, however, also enjoyed living in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Barbara was very kind hearted, enjoyed her family, and loved spending summers at Raymond Pond with her kids. She attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid crossword puzzle player.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Shawn and his wife Laurie and Patrick and his wife Deborah; his grandchildren Patrick and his wife Teryn, Elizabeth and her husband Jacob, Taylor and his wife Samantha, and Dillion; and seven great-grandchildren.
