Climate change mitigation workshop
A Climate Resilience Community Workshop will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.
The town is seeking community input on ways to safeguard its natural resources, upgrade vital infrastructure and support local agriculture. Feedback from participants will help the town decide on how climate projects should be prioritized for funding.
The town is working to enroll in the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the future Community Resilience Partnership that will make the town eligible for project funding in the state’s “Maine Won’t Wait” four-year climate action plan.
Municipal jobs available
The town is hiring to fill positions including assistant for the Assessing Division, Youth Services librarian for the Baxter Memorial Library, driver-operator for the Public Works Department, summer camp counselors for the Recreation Department and a police officer.

50 years ago
The American Journal reported on Feb. 21, 1973, that the Rev. David Corbett, a native of Rochester, New Hampshire, was the new pastor at the White Rock Church. Corbett and his wife were introduced at a reception at the White Rock Grange Hall.
