‘Hidden Stories’ art exhibit ends Saturday
This is the final week to view the “Hidden Stories” art exhibit that is on display through Saturday at the University of Southern Maine Art Gallery at Gorham, 5 University Way.
The sculpture, printmaking, painting and book arts, created by artists Kate Cheney Chappell and Annie Lee-Zimerle, invite the viewer to discover more, hidden in plain sight.
Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Former intelligence officers group to meet
The Association of Former Intelligence Officers will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kennebunk High School’s Economos Lecture Hall, 89 Fletcher St., Route 35.
Guest speaker will be Josh Gentry. He is a former intelligence analyst with the CIA and the author of a book that concentrates on political activity of U.S. intelligence officers since 2016.
The public is welcome to attend.

Reserve spot at Audubon online talk about loons
York County Audubon presents is accepting advance reservation for its 7 p.m., Feb. 21 online talk “All About Loons” with Dr. James Paruk.
Paruk is professor of biology at Saint Joseph’s College and is considered one of the world’s experts on loons.
He is also the author of the acclaimed “Loon Lessons: Encounters with the Great Northern Diver.”
This program will be presented via Zoom. There’s no charge but advance registration is required online at yorkcountyaudubon.org where the meeting link can be found.

Learn about organization seeking abolition of war
The Freeport Woman’s Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the community room of the Freeport Community Library, at 10 Library Dr.
Club member Mair Honan give a presentation on World Beyond Wars, an international grassroots organization that pursues the abolition of war through education, protest, and global campaigns.
All are welcome to attend. Wearing masks is encouraged but not required.

Bishop to ordain Mahoney to permanent diaconate
Bishop Robert Deeley will ordain Kennebunk’s Daniel Mahoney to the permanent diaconate at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St.
All are welcome to gather for this special celebration. The ceremony also will be livestreamed and viewable at portlandcatholic.org/livestreamed-liturgies.

Library adjusts services after burst pipe
Due to a burst pipe, the Wells Public Library will be closed until further notice with library curbside pickup for requested books scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays.
A number of programs sponsored by the library will instead be held at a number of offsite support venues:
• Toddler Storytime will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and again at 1:15 p.m. Friday, at the Activity Center at 113 Sanford Road for ages 2-5 years and their caregivers.
• On Thursday, at 2 p.m., join Wells Public Library staffers and EnergySage representatives for the online chat “An Introduction to Community Solar” via Zoom. For more details and the Zoom link, contact Stefanie Claydon at sclaydon@wellstown.org or call the library at 207-646-8181.
