Question from Juliana C., Westbrook

Marc, My Partner and I have put in multiple offers on homes and none have been accepted. What gives?

Juliana, Thank you for your question. There are many unknowns to your question however, as you may have seen from my other responses, we are in a seller’s market. That means the buyer isn’t necessarily in the driver’s seat on the transaction and there are usually multiple offers on a property up for sale. Here is my advice. Work with a seasoned, competent Realtor with an excellent reputation. Ask lots of questions. Have your Realtor call the listing agent of a property you are considering to see if they can find out what the seller needs. Not all offers to a seller are price driven so think of other ways to make an offer attractive. Perhaps you can offer a rent-back to the seller to find other housing or put a limit on inspections. In this market you need to put your best foot forward right from the start. There are no second chances in a super seller’s market. Good Luck.
