BRUNSWICK — Blake Austin scored the winning run in the eighth inning as Brunswick pulled out a 6-5 win over Lewiston in a softball game on Monday.
The Dragons improved to 6-1, while the Blue Devils fell to 1-4.
Ellie Sullivan pitched all eight innings to get the win, while Riley McAllister had three hits for the Dragons. Kelsey Sullivan, Morgan Foster and Kelsey Cassidy each had two hits.
Skylar Gelinas, Brooke Mynahan, Charlotte Cloutier, and Gemma Landry each had two hits for the Blue Devils.
LAKE REGION 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Melissa Mayo allowed two runs on three hits, while striking out four and walking one in the Lakers (4-5) win over the Raiders (5-2) in Naples.
Mayo added an RBI triple and Emily Rock had a solo home run.
Meghan Fusco had a run-scoring double for the Raiders.
WINDHAM 7, GORHAM 2: Ellie Wilson drove in two runs as the Eagles (5-2) beat the Rams (3-3) in Windham.
Amanda Foss and Ella Wilcox each had an RBI in a three-run sixth inning. Brooke Gerry earned the win, and Kelsey Gerry hit a home run.
SCARBOROUGH 15, FALMOUTH 0: Starter Anglina Pizzella pitched three hitless innings and combined with Jenna Giguere for a shutout as the Red Storm (4-0) beat the Yachtsmen (2-6) in Falmouth.
AJ Swett went 3 for 4 and scored four runs while Pizzella had a double, triple and three RBI. Katie Roy had two hits and three RBI, while Samantha Cote had a triple and a single.
MORSE 6, MEDOMAK VALLEY 4: Abby Carpenter hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to push the Shipbuilders (3-2) past the Panthers (2-1) in Waldoboro.
Camdyn Johnson earned the win on the mound, striking out 17 and walking just two over nine innings. Haley Jackson and Hallie Johnson each had two hits for Morse.
Ally Creamer took the loss for the Panthers, striking out eight and walking five.
MT. ARARAT 14, YARMOUTH 1: Jaimey Weidner went 3 for 5 with a home run as the Eagles (2-3) beat the Clippers (0-3) in six innings in Yarmouth.
Jaiden Lohr and Lexie Dupree each had two hits and drove in two runs while Megan Reed earned the win, striking out seven and walking one.
BASEBALL
MEDOMAK VALLEY 6, MORSE 4: Ethan Reed had three hits and an RBI as the Panthers (2-1) edged the Shipbuilders (1-4) in Waldoboro.
Matt Holbrook earned the win for Medomak, tossing 62/3 innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out 11. Noah Crosby earned the one-out save.
Ty Knowlton took the loss for the Shipbuilders, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and strikin gout eight in five innings.
LEWISTON 6, BRUNSWICK 4: Keegan McLauglin pitched six innings, striking out eight and allowing three hits, as the Blue Devils (4-3) beat the Dragons (2-4) in Brunswick.
Damon Bossie had a double, two singles and two RBI. Josh Murphy hit a triple, single and two RBI while Nate Lyons and Michael Dymkowski each had two hits.
Wes Cooper had a pair hits for Brunswick, which scored all of its runs in the first inning.
CAMDEN HILLS 14, OCEANSIDE 4: Matt Kremin had a home run and drove in five runs as the Windjammers beat the Mariners (2-6) in Rockland.
Sam Moody also had a home run while with Aiden Schecter had two hits.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
MARSHWOOD 12, BIDDEFORD 5: Ella Manero had three goals and two assists, Eva Moreland added three goals and an assist and the Hawks (6-1) beat the Tigers (3-4) in South Berwick.
Natalie Singer and Fina Melino had two goals apiece for Marshwood, while Megan Wentworth and Ali Arrigoni each added a goal. Lily Dupree recorded six saves.
Abby Allen led Biddeford with three goals and an assist, while Valentina Laflamme added a pair of goals.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 14, WELLS 6: Maggie Holt had five goals and an assist as the Panthers (4-2) beat the Warriors (2-3) in Yarmouth.
Emma Sharp, Alev Yilmaz and Vy Tran each scored two goals for NYA. Ally White turned back 11 shots for the Panthers.
Rhiannon McGuaide led Wells with three goals and Jaiden Greaves recorded 10 saves.
FREEPORT 11, LAKE REGION 9: Kate Tracy had three goals and two assists to lead the way for the Falcons (4-0) over the Lakers (3-3) in Naples.
Katie Keenan had four goals and a pair of assists for Lake Region.
Savannah Tracy and Meghan Driscoll each scored three goals for Freeport.
Goalies Piper Williams of the Falcons and Gwen Gagnon of the Lakers each made eight saves.
WINDHAM 18, LEWISTON 7: Emma Yale scored seven goals and Riley Beem added four goals as the Eagles (4-0) beat the Blue Devils (2-1) in Windham.
Julia McKenna, Isabelle Babb and Molly Black each notched two goals for Wundham.
Charlotte Gastonguay led Lewiston with four more goals while Ceci Miller, Brie Dube and Rebecca Lussier each scored a goal.
SCARBOROUGH 16, WESTBROOK 0: Paige Spooner had three goals and three assists, Stella Grondin and Sawyer McFadden each scored two goals and the Red Storm (6-1) cruised past the Blue Blazes (0-5) in Scarborough
Meagan Donovan added a goal and three assists for the Red Storm.
Pauline Bandayo made four saves in goal for Westbrook.
