WATERSHED CENTER for the Ceramic Arts is a popular, family-friendly participant in the Wiscasset Art Walks. The first 2017 Art Walk is on June 29 from 5-8 p.m.
The fifth season of Wiscasset Art Walk, which takes place in the Wiscasset village center, begins June 29 and runs from 5-8 p.m.
In addition to Wiscasset Village’s collection of artist-owned galleries, specialty shops, antique venues, restaurants and music, visitors will be entertained this season by unique special events. Throughout the season, guest artists, performers and a craft show will add more abundance to the evening.
Park the car for the evening and stroll the open doors and sidewalks: listen to live music; taste wine at Treats and snacks at Beelicious; explore the exhibitions of fine art in the galleries and shop for books and fine gifts while enjoying views of the Sheepscot River.
Free tours of the Nickels- Sortwell House, owned by Historic New England, and Wiscasset’s self- guided Museum in the Streets, now with a new app, provide the context for this historical village, once a shipping community.
Wiscasset Art Walks are held on the last Thursday of the summer months: June 29, July 27, Aug. 31, and Sept. 28 from 5-8 p.m. Participant sites are marked with colorful streamers and touring maps are available throughout the village. Major sponsors for Wiscasset Art Walk 2017 are Donna and Frank Barnako, Ames True Value, Big Barn Coffee, Carl M.P. Larrabee Agency, Carleton Real Estate, Carriage House Gardens, First National Bank, Red’s Eats, and The Maine Real Estate Network/ Chris Almasi, broker; with Cod Cove Inn as an additional sponsor.
