BATH

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Chocolate Church Arts Center is connecting with the community for a concert Saturday night.

The event – A Love of Country – will showcase the regional talent of the Don Campbell Band, and will honor the men and women who are serving or have served the country. The band offers a blend of country, adult contemporary and lite rock music for all ages.

“Music is a healing experience and for generations it has a unifying power,” said Jennifer DeChant, executive director of the Chocolate Church Arts Center. “This concert underscores our culture of patriotic music that encourages feelings of honor for our country’s forefathers and for national unity.”

The concert, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., will feature music that ranges in genre and includes original songs dedicated to veterans as well as cover songs. A rendition of the national anthem by the band’s fiddle player will open the show, which is a non-political, family event.

“Recently we have seen how music is a rallying point in efforts to raise money for hurricane relief efforts,” said DeChant. “Here we are rallying the American spirit and our shared love of country to show appreciation for men and women who have served and currently serve in the armed forces.”
