BOWDOIN — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department is investigating the theft of two lion figures stolen Monday night from pillars at the end of a driveway in Bowdoin.
The theft was reported at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday. Lt. Calvin Temple said a driveway along Lewis Hill Road had stone pillars marking the driveway entrance, each with a lion statute on top. During the night Monday, someone took the lions from the pillars, which Temple estimated to be about 7 or 8 feet high. The lions are reportedly worth $75 each.
