BRUNSWICK

The Oratorio Chorale winter 2016 concert, “Dvorák Mass in D,” featuring organist Ray Cornils, will take place in two Brunswick performances on Sunday. The program will also include “Bright Mass with Canons” by contemporary composer Nico Muhly, whose work includes commissions from Carnegie Hall, the Tallis Scholars, and the Metropolitan Opera. Both works were chosen to celebrate Maine organist Ray Cornils.

The Dvorák Mass is among the composer’s best-loved compositions and is his only surviving Mass. The Muhly Mass was composed for the choir and organist of Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in New York City and has been recorded by the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Both works highlight the dramatic power of the organ. Soloists for the Chorale concert include Maine bass-baritone John D. Adams, and three Boston- based musicians, Deborah Selig, Margaret Lias and Gregory Zavracky.

Performances take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Seventh- day Adventist Church in Brunswick.Call 1-800-838-3006 for tickets.
