TOPSHAM — Bernard “Fred” Frederick Theriault, 85, passed away on Friday, February 24 at Mid Coast Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born in Old Town, Maine on August 8, 1926 the son of Frederick and Addie (Loubier) Theriault. He grew up in Old Town and attended Old Town Schools.
At the age of only 16 he entered the United States Army-Air force and proudly served his country. In 1946, Fred received his discharge and returned home to Old Town and went to work as a weaver at the Woolen Mill.
He met his first wife, Anita Cote, ( who passed away in 2002) and the couple was married in 1950. A few years later as they started their family they moved to Bath. Fred was employed at Bath Iron Works and retiring 29 years later as Assistant Foreman.
On June 10, 2006 Fred married Venise Beaulieu and the couple resides in Topsham. Fred loved life. He was a nature enthusiast. He loved fishing, hunting and talking long walks with Venise. After he retired he did alot of traveling, he wanted to see the country. And when Fred was at home, he loved to play card games. Dominoes was one of his favorite past times. Fred was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and was a 3rd degree knight. He will be sadly missed by all those that loved him.
Fred was predeceased by 2 sisters, Celestine Marquis and Bessy Moreau and a brother, Herman Theriault.
He is survived by his wife, Venise of Topsham, 3 sons, Thomas Theriault and his wife Danuta of Wiscasset, John Theriault and his wife Dorothy of Harpswell, and Robert Theriault and his wife Lucia of Kary, NC, a stepdaughter, JoAnn Tonn and her husband Jeff of Harpswell, a sister, Edna Cyr of Old Town, 11 grandchildren, Megan Rines, Andrew Theriault, Christine Theriault, Ryan Theriault, Chad Theriault, David Theriault, John Theriault, Venise Deming, Victoria Stack, Elizabeth Hall, and Jeffery Tonn and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, February 28th at 10: 00am at All Saints Parish, St. Charles Church, 132 McKeen Street, Brunswick.
