OLD ORCHARD BEACH (AP) — The Maine fire marshal’s office is investigating a string of small fires reported in Old Orchard Beach.
Firefighters say the first fire was reported near some railroad tracks shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday. A short time later, crews were called to a local cafe that was damaged by fire.
Other fires were put out in the dune grass along the beach, in a trash can, between two cabins and near a building under construction.
A fire official called the blazes suspicious but fell short of calling them arson fires.
