She was born in Denver on September 10, 1932, a daughter of Charles J. and Margaret E. Hoag Haley.
She graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in Denver in 1950. She then graduated from the University of Denver with an associates degree in business in 1952 and from Metropolitan State College with a bachelors degree in accounting in 1977.
As a CPA, Mary was the comptroller for the State Department of Agriculture in Colorado. Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle. In addition, she enjoyed traveling and was a "Die Hard" Denver Broncos fan.
She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and Phi Gamma Nu professional fraternity. She was also a member of Risen Christ Church in Denver, Widows and Widowers (WOWS), Widowed Men and Women of America (WMWA), and a member of the American Society of Women Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPA’s.
She moved to Brunswick from Denver, Colorado in 2005.
Her husband, John J. "Jack" Fay died in 1973. She is also predeceased by a brother, Michael J. Haley; and her beloved companion, Dwight Wilson.
Surviving are her daughters, Michelle Chasse’ and her husband, Michael of Freeport, and Jackie Errico and her husband, Steve of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Charles Haley of Leawood, KS; a sister in Longmont, CO; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Haley of Denver, CO; one granddaughter, Suzette Chasse’ of Freeport; and nine nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Denver on July 11th at Risen Christ Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tedford Shelter Housing, PO Box 958, Brunswick, ME 04011.
