A DRESS and a scarf are among Susan Perrine’s works of fiber art on view at the Midcoast Center for Higher Education in Bath through May 7.
Perrine’s artwork includes sculpture, garden structures, artist books and handwoven pieces.
“ I grew up on a farm and have always spent a lot of time outdoors, walking the fields and woods near home,” Perrine said in a release about the exhibit. “I try to use methods and materials to reflect the connection I feel toward the natural environment.
“I use traditional fiber art techniques to fix materials together creating sculpture, 2-D imagery and wearable art. Besides renewable plant and animal fiber, I collect and repurpose recycled and found objects. I advocate for the arts and develop inclusive community art making projects.”
Viewing hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
