BOWDOINHAM — Frances Viola Brown, 96, of Bowdoinham, passed away at her home on Monday, May 26, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in Turner, Maine, on Feb. 25, 1919, the daughter of John and Hattie (Lang) Turner. Frances grew up in Turner and attended schools there.

She married Alonzo Brown in 1945 and the couple resided in Canton to raise their family.

Frances was a homemaker who took care of her family, there wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for them. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Frances loved to travel, as she spent many winters in Florida, and for the past 13 years, has lived with her daughter, Carol, and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren, her greatgrandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all those that loved her.

Frances is predeceased by her brother, Raymond; three sisters, Florence Thibodeau, Catherine Hollis and Ruth Killiam, a son, Richard Brown and a granddaughter, Tammy Ericson.

She leaves behind a daughter, Carol M. Henry of Bowdoinham; a son, David Brown and his wife Tina of Saco; two grandsons, David Brown Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Saco and Tracie Brown and his companion Caryn Hazen of PA; and a granddaughter, Krystal Brown and her fiancé Jimmy Booth of OOB; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota Brown, Mason Ericson, Nolan Brown, Jianna Booth, Jazmin Booth, Zachary Brown and his wife Ryanne and Brandon Brown and his wife Brittannie; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brody and Aubrey.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Demers- Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick, Maine. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Growstown Cemetery in Brunswick, Maine.
