Lillian "Lil" was born Lillian Arlene Smith, September 9, 1928 in Turner, the daughter of Adelbert W. and Lura B. (Norton) Smith. One of eleven children, she was predeceased by seven siblings Laurice "Larry", Gwyeneth, Clint, Glen, Bernie "Red", Delbert, Venice and Lawrence H. Scott Sr. her 1st husband of 32 years and George A. Safford her 2nd husband of 30 years.
Lillian was a devoted and loving homemaker, having raised three boys. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, camping in her sparetime and keeping up with social events. She was an avid dog lover having been predeceased by her most recent companion Tina, a Boston Terrier.
Lillian is survived by three siblings, Geneva, Delores "Dolly" and Beverly "Bev"; three sons, Brian D. Scott and his wife Nancy of Brunswick, Aaron B. Scott and his wife Kathy of Woolwich, and Lawrence "Larry" H. Scott Jr. and his partner Stacy Thieme of Topsham; five grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Brent, Erica and Clinton; six great grandchildren, Patrick, Kyle, Marina, Tyson, Cooper and Annabelle; five stepchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, with special mention to her niece Sandra Anair.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM, at 11 Pleasant St., Brunswick.
