FREEPORT — Elaine Frances Jacobson Record Wilmot, 80, of Freeport, ME, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Hawthorne House Assisted Living Facility where she had resided for the past 17 months.

She was born to Theodore L. Jacobson and Frances E. Gullans on Sept. 22, 1933, in Weymouth, MA. She was the second of three children, predeceased by Betty DeYoung and Doris Farley. Elaine was a graduate of Weymouth High School. She married Sanford P. Record of Braintree, MA in 1952 and resided there until 1972 when they moved to Freeport, ME.

Elaine was employed by General Dynamics, Raytheon and the telephone company. She retired from L.L. Bean after 20 years of employment as the supervisor of the mail room. She worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant/Meds at the Freeport Nursing Home for 10 years.

Elaine was active in the First Parish Congregational Church of Freeport as a parishioner and church accountant. She also organized many pancake breakfasts and bean suppers at the Freeport Senior Center, where she met Roger Goodwin Wilmot and they were married in November 1999. They enjoyed traveling together and family gatherings with many family members. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, calligraphy, poetry and writing. Elaine and her family spent summers at the family cottage on Bustins Island and with relatives at Popponesset Beach, Cape Cod.

She is survived by her two sons: Paul Sanford Record of Oxford, ME and Theodore R. Record of West Falmouth, MA; three grandchildren: James Record, John E. Vanidestine, Theodore S. Record; as well as several nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her son David F. Record and her daughter Karen E. Record.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at First Parish Congregational Church, 40 Main St., Freeport, ME.
