He was raised in Glen Rock and Ridgewood, NJ where he attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel grammar school. He graduated from St Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale NJ in 1971. He graduated from Unity College in 1974 where he met his future wife, Hedy Page. They were married Oct, 1976 and settled in the Brunswick area. In 1999, he went back to school to earn his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Paul was employed at Brunswick Ford in Brunswick for many years as an accountant and at Paul Blouin Precision Motors as comptroller for the last 16 years. He loved his work.
He was a communicant of St Mary’s in Bath for the last 28 years where he served as Eucharistic Minister and a member of the parish council. He has been active in the Bath Area Knights of Columbus where he worked tirelessly at the monthly breakfasts, in the annual Tootsie Roll drive and the Texas Hold’em tournaments.
Paul was known for his sense of humor and dry wit. He could tactfully make a point while making you smile. He was a gentle man and although he was 6’4" he would bend down to hold the hand of a child whether it was a niece, a son, a daughter or a grandchild. He delighted in playing with his children, his grandchildren and his dog. He would crawl on the floor with toddlers, skip stones across the water with the older children and tirelessly walk and play with the dog.
Paul was an avid reader and loved a good discussion involving politics. He could uphold his viewpoint but could also listen to an opposing viewpoint and agree to disagree. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of cars and loved to frequent car shows and the Owl’s Head Transportation Museum. Attending their annual antique car auction was a favorite event. At home he loved cooking and grilling. He specialized in cheesecakes for all the holidays and often tried new dishes.
