BRUNSWICK — Wendall Kinney, a fifth generation Maine native who as born “Down East” in Washington County, has been writing poetry and prose since 1990. His first book, “Overhome: and Other Kitchen Table Tales” was a compilation of short stories based on family history. His newest project, “The Bull and I” is an audio cd about growing up in rural Maine. The stories are all true with a bit of the Blarney added!
Kinney grew up on a dairy farm in Dexter. He is a graduate of the Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill and has a bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in Vermont. He is a US Army Veteran who served in Japan and Korea. He and his wife Mona live in Brunswick and have two grown children. He is retired from the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Kittery, ME.
Kinney will talk about both works at an Author’s Chat on Wednesday, July 9, 2 p.m. at People Plus, 35 Union Street Brunswick. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is requested. FMI 729-0757.
