Bowdoinham’s 5th Annual Open Farm Day & Art Trail takes place on Sunday and features a variety of farms across the Midcoast.
The day will begin with farm tours at Campo di fiori, Apple Creek Farm, Gruff Acres Farm, Life Force Farm, Blue Bell Farm Maine, Stonecipher Farm, Fairwinds Farm, Six River Farm, Havenridge Farm, Left Field Farm, East of Eden Flower Farm and Harvest Tide Organics. Art trail artists and galleries include Catmint Garden & Gallery, Swan Island Restoration, Morphee Creations, Watersong Music, Melissa M. Fiori, Debbie Spaulding, Diana Mosher, Starrocks, Steven Thomas Bunn Furnituremaker, Bloom, Jane Page-Conway Fine Art Photography and Merrymeeting Arts Center. Bowdoinham Historical Society will have both the Jellerson School and Meeting House open for tours and The Long Branch School of Maine will have Tiny Home tours as well.
Then from 3-6 p.m. the celebration will continue at Mailly Waterfront Park with a barbeque featuring fresh foods from local farms as well as live music. The barbeque will be catered by Texas Barbeque Co. Bowdoinham Historical Society will provide dessert at the barbeque with fresh strawberry shortcake. The barbeque is $12 for adults and $8 for kids and seniors. Strawberry shortcake is $4 per serving.
This year, Merrymeeting Trail Initiative and Kennebec Estuary Land Trust are sponsoring their 4th Annual Explore Merrymeeting Bay Bike Ride on Open Farm Day. The event will include three led bike ride options: an 8- mile ride at 10 a.m., at 40-mile ride at 11:30 a.m. and a 24- mile ride at noon. All three led rides will leave from Mailly Waterfront Park in Bowdoinham.

BARBEQUE MENU
• Pulled chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, corn bread and strawberry shortcake are on the Open Farm Day menu. The barbeque costs $12 for adults; $8 for kids and seniors; and $4 for just strawberry shortcake.
