BRUNSWICK

Brunswick artist Maria Castellano Usery continues her work of “art philanthropy for the budget-conscious,” as she calls it, on Friday at Cool As A Moose in Brunswick.

Castellano-Usery will set up her easel in the front window of Cool As A Moose and have a day-long “ Paint- a- Thon” during business hours (roughly 10 a.m. To 6 p.m.). Raffle tickets for the completed acrylic painting will be sold both in person and online for $5 each or 3 for $ 10 with the winning ticket being drawn Friday evening. Maria will be donating 50 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick. Additionally, 10 percent of all Maria’s art sales from her “pop-up” art show at Cool As A Moose will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick as well.

This is the eighth event in Castellano Usery’s series where she works with other local businesses and various charities that are meaningful to her. She started Brushstrokes with Impact as a “Paint-a-Thon” that took place in December 2015 and has since raised over $1300 for national and local charities.
