DURHAM — The Peace and Social Concerns committee of the Durham Friends Meeting are sponsoring a summer conversations series. On Saturday, the talk, “Faith, Science and Climate Change: In the Spirit of Stewardship and Sustainability,” runs from 7 to 9 p.m.
Ray Sirois is the guest speaker. He lives in Harrison with his wife and son, and is a senior associate and IT director at Wright-Pierce, an engineering firm with offices around New England. Sirois has served on the Maine Department of Environmental Protection’s Climate Adaptation Group and has presented to more than 70 congregations, academic groups and business groups on the science of climate change and water.
A news release notes that in addition to Saturday’s talk, Sirois will return on Aug. 25 “to discuss acidification of the oceans and visualizing civilization’s success with the challenges before us.”
Durham Friends Meeting, 532 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, is located on the corner of Route 125 and the Quaker Meetinghouse Road.
