NEW HARBOR — Saltwater Artists Gallery, Route 130, is assisting veteran member artist Jean Christy of Waldoboro in locating “Heather,” a child who was the subject of a watercolor painting in the early to mid-1980s. The child is now grown and in her late twenties.

Christy taught art at Nobleboro School at the time. Heather was a 6-year-old student when the watercolor of her holding a Cabbage Patch doll was done. Christy and Saltwater Artists Gallery is hoping that Heather and her family are still in the area.

According to a news release, the public is invited to visit the gallery to view the watercolor and hopefully identify the child’s last name. Christy would love to meet the now grown woman and present the watercolor to her as a gift.

Christy can be reached at 832-4561 or jeanchristy@myfairpoint.net.
