The program, with a book signing to follow, will take place on Friday, Aug. 17, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the museum and is free to the public. The book is available for sale in the Museum Store.
According to a news release, the graphic novel is a re-telling of the harrowing story of Donn Fendler’s nineday adventure as a 12-year-old Boy Scout, lost and alone, after being separated from his family and friends during a sudden storm on top of Maine’s mile-high Mount Katahdin. Fendler’s story of survival and rescue in the Maine wilderness was made famous by in the best-selling book “Lost on a Mountain in Maine.”
