BATH — Friends of Patten Free Library will host their annual meeting on Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m., with guest author Tilar J. Mazzeo. Books will be sold at the event by the Mustard Seed Bookstore.
After a brief business meeting, Mazzeo will speak of her new book, “Irena’s Children: A True Story of Courage,” about the risks Irena Sendler took to save the lives of 2,500 children from death and deportation in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II.
Mazzeo is the New York Times bestselling author of “The Widow Clicquot,” “The Secret of Chanel No.5,” and “Hotel on the Place Vendome.” She teaches at Colby College and lives part time in Portland, Maine.
