FREEPORT

The Greater Freeport Community Chorus, directed by Virgil Bozeman, will begin rehearsals for its spring concerts Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Freeport Performing Arts Center at Freeport High School, 30 Holbrook St.

Registration will run from 6-6:30 p.m., with rehearsal to follow. Rehearsals take place from 6:30-8:45 p.m. Sundays at the FPAC.

The program this semester will focus on music from the movies. Concert dates are May 5 and 6.

All singers are welcome, but the chorus especially needs tenors and basses. The Greater Freeport Community Chorus is an adult, mixed-voice group whose members are residents of about 20 Midcoast towns. No audition or previous experience with choral singing is required.

Membership dues are $70, or $125 per couple. New singers are welcome to attend up to three rehearsals before deciding whether to join and pay dues.

For more information, call (207) 844-1166, visit gfccsings.org or find the chorus on Facebook.
