BEATRICE, NE — Jeannine M. Gilliland, age 63 years, of Beatrice died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her home. She was born December 29, 1948 at Brunswick, Maine. She spent her childhood there, and married Michael Gilliland on December 29, 1966 at Topsham, Maine. Following their marriage, they moved to Nebraska where she has lived for the past 46 years. She was a 1967 graduate of Wymore Southern High School. She served as secretary for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wymore and was a Tupperware sales person for many years. She was a former member St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as an officer for St. Mary’s Altar Society. She was currently a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Beatrice. She was a member of the W.I.B.C. and was a past president of the Wymore Women’s Bowling Assn. Her hobbies included bowling and sewing, especially creating prom dresses, as well as singing and dancing.

Jeannine is survived by her husband, Michael; by a son, Jason Gilliland and his wife Lori of Clancy, MT; by a daughter, Rebecca Schwisow and her husband Roy of Beatrice; by grandchildren, Jacob and Peri Jean Gilliland; Jason, Emily, Whitney, Riley, and Callie Schwisow; by brothers, Tom (Carmen) Coulombe, Lewiston, ME; Francois (Helena) Coulombe, Hopkinsville, KY; Tony (Yvonne) Coulombe, Topsham, ME; Michael (Gail) Coulombe, Sydney, ME; Pierre (Lisa) Coulombe, Escondido, CA; James Coulombe, Richmond, VA; Andrew (Gigi) Coulombe, Kissemee, FL; by sisters, Anita (Mike) Kenopensky, Bowdoin, ME; Liz (Bill) Kinsman; and Jackie (Bob) Adams, all of Topsham, ME; Barbara (Michael) Giroux, Augusta, ME; and by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacques and Theresa (Marin) Coulombe; by two sisters, Rosemarie Homovich and Dawn Marie Coulombe; and by a granddaughter, Beaudy Jeannette Schwisow.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 6th & High Streets, Beatrice, with Fr. Steve Major and Fr. Dennis Hotovy officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wymore. Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 9th & K Streets, Wymore, and not at the church. A scriptural prayer service will be at 7p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial to National Right To Life with Brenda Durman in charge. An online register book is available for signing at ghchapel.com. Laughlin- Hoevet Funeral Home, Wymore, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial mass will be held in Maine at a later date.
