PORTLAND — Jim Kise, 75, died all too soon at his home in Freeport on December 26, 2012. He was born May 2, 1937 in Trenton, New Jersey to Charles R. and Gladys Mae (Doll) Kise. He is survived by his wife, Sallie Smith, his brother Lee (Germany), four children: Jefferson (California), Curtis (Philadelphia), Susanna (Houston) and Triplett (Freeport), and by three grandchildren: Cassandra, Marguerite and Wesley (California).

A multiple graduate from the University of Pennsylvania (BA, MA, MCP, MFA) he was one of Philadelphia’s greatest advocates. He was a principal in the architectural and planning firm of Kise, Straw, and Kalodner. Among other activities he was a Trustee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for almost 40 years.
