Even in the depths of winter, things are heating up at the Chocolate Church!
Member Art Show
The Chocolate Church Arts Center at 804 Washington Street will accept artwork from member artists via email chocolatechurchartscenter@ g mail.com before January 26, 2015. Work will be received February 4 from 10am-2pm and February 7 from 12-2pm.
Artists who are members or become members may submit 2-3 original artworks for the exhibition that opens February 10, 2015 and will run through late April 3. All work selected to be submitted must be framed or otherwise ready to display, and must be for sale, benefiting the Chocolate Church Arts Center.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served during the Member Show opening reception on Saturday, February 14, from 5 to 7 pm, to coincide with the Hot Chocolate Jubilee Valentines fundraiser held later that evening.

‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ auditions
The Chocolate Church Arts Center & Studio Theatre of Bath present a 35th Anniversary production of Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Auditions are Friday Jan 23 at 7pm; Saturday Jan 24 at 2pm and Sunday Jan 25th at 2pm. Auditions to be held in the Chocolate Church Arts Center Annex, 804 Washington Street, Bath. There are parts for 6 men and 6 women. Come prepared to do cold readings from the show. An audition piece of 2 minutes is welcome, but not needed. Call backs may be needed. Performances are Fri, Sat, Sun April 10,11,12 and 17,18,19th. on the main stage at CCAC. A Chocolate Church and Studio Theatre of Bath production. Schooner Fare returns to the CC
Brothers Chuck and Steve Romanoff begin their 40th year as Schooner Fare with the return engagement Saturday, January 24 at the Chocolate Church Arts Center. From Washington, D.C.’s Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts to Chocolate Church, located at 804 Washington Street in Bath, Schooner Fare performs lively concerts to folks of all ages, singing such signature original songs as Portland Town, Day of the Clipper, We the People, and Scuttlebutt with high spirits and their unique brand of Maine’s Down East humor.
Schooner Fare has won unanimous critical praise over their 40 years for captivating harmonies and winning stage presence. Their 15 albums include traditional songs of North America, Ireland, and Britain. Numerous original songs on both contemporary and traditional themes, as well as topical songs, country ballads, and maritime masterpieces have made their name synonymous with the “Down East” style.
Consummate entertainers, their energetic concerts are laced with a Maine brand of universal humor. Chuck and Steve combine their talents on six-string guitar, twelvestring guitar, and banjo to craft their distinctive vocal and instrumental arrangements.
