Mrs. Ingram was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, on Sept. 12, 1922, to Rafael and Corina (Moya) Finke, the middle child of seven brothers and sisters. She was educated in the Dominican Republic before moving to Washington in the early 1950s to work for the Dominican Embassy and the Organization of American States. She met her husband at the Embassy, while Mr. Ingram was decorating the residence.
Eva had a long and successful career in banking, beginning as a foreign teller and rising to become an officer at the Riggs National Bank in Washington. She retired in 1991 from the Riggs Main Office.
In retirement, Eva enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family, in particular her two grandchildren. She was delighted to attend the wedding of her oldest grandchild, Laura, to Kyle Ferber in Portland, Maine, this past August.
Eva is survived by her son and his wife, John and Carol Ingram of Brunswick, Maine; her granddaughter and her husband, Laura and Kyle Ferber of Richmond, Va.; her granddaughter, Michelle Ingram of Brunswick; her sister Lida Finke Moscoso and numerous extended family in the Domincan Republic; and her most cherished friend Mary Todd Bartlett and her husband Bertram Bartlett, plus many other loving friends.
A memorial service in celebration of Eva’s life will be held at Mid Coast Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 27 at 3 p.m. Eva will be reunited with Jack at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington pending interment arrangements.
