BRUNSWICK — Cabot Mill Antiques will host a complimentary Victorian Mother’s Day Tea on Sunday, May 12. Tea will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mother’s, daughters, sisters, aunts and friends and, yes, men are welcome. Dress up is optional but highly encouraged.

The day’s festivities will include a delightful seated afternoon tea with all the trimmings. Guests can enjoy a variety of decadent teas, coffee, tea cakes and pastries. Prize drawings to include a tea gift basket and gift certificate to Cabot Mill Antiques.

Cabot Mill Antiques offers 16,000 square feet of showroom with 160 quality displays. It is one of the largest antique shops in Maine. Customers can browse through a vast selection of items from period furnishings to festive vintage collectibles.

Diane Vella of Blessings will demonstrate paint decorating techniques beginning at 11:30 a.m. Vella will give decorating with antiques tips from her unique perspective.

Vella will demonstrate paint techniques with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Annie Sloan developed her now famous decorative paint, Chalk Paint, more than 20 years ago to answer the need she had for a versatile paint that would have many uses from acting like lime wash to looking like old painted furniture. She called it Chalk Paint because of its beautiful velvety, matte finish.
