BRUNSWICK
Santa Claus is scheduled to board his Casco Bay Yacht this evening on Main Street before lighting the town’s talking Christmas Tree during Freeport’s Sparkle Parade of Lights.
According to the Freeport USA website, the parade will start at 6 p. m. at Holbrook Street and continue along Main Street to the intersection with Bow Street, where the talking Christmas tree is expected to vocalize.
The parade kicks off a weekend of holiday events, featuring concerts, refreshments, carriage rides, craft fairs and carol singing.
On Saturday, Santa will hold visitation hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sunday he will be at the Breakfast with Santa event from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Both events will be held at Freeport Community Services at 55 Depot St.
The weekend events will include:
Friday
— Parade of lights, 6 p.m.
Saturday
— Sparkle weekend craft fair, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Freeport Community Services.
— Visits with Santa, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Freeport Community Services.
— Free hot cocoa, all day, various locations.
— Complimentary giftwrapping, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mallett House at 7 Mill St.
— Visits, story time, and carols with Mrs. Claus, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mallet House at 7 Mill St.
— Holiday carolers, 11 a.m. to 1 p. m. and 2 p. m. to 3: 30 p.m., at L.L. Bean campus.
Sunday
— Breakfast with Santa, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., Freeport Community Services.
— Jingle Bell Run-walk, 10 a. m. with registration at 9 a.m., Freeport High School.
