WATERVILLE — The Waterville Opera House offers two special holiday programs, “ The Winter Wonderettes” and “ Christmas Sojourn.”

Both shows take place in the venue’s Studio Theater, as renovations of the opera house continue.

“The Opera House transforms its dance studio into a hardware store Christmas party in the ‘60s-style musical ‘The Winter Wonderettes,” a Waterville Opera House release states. “This seasonal sequel to ‘ The Marvelous Wonderettes,’ which Maine audiences may have seen recently at Penobscot Theatre Company in Bangor or Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick, reunites the four main characters to host Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party.

“When Santa doesn’t show up, the girls must use their vocal talent to save the festivities,” the release continues. “ Featuring versions of favorite Christmas tunes in four- part harmony and accompanied by the Gerry Wright Trio, this production appeals to all ages with its merry melodies and bright choreography.”

Performances are at 7: 30 p.m. today and Saturday, as well as at 2 p.m. Sunday. The dance studio is located on the third floor of 93 Main St.

Seating is cabaret- style. Single tickets cost $15 apiece, including complimentary snacks. A group rate is available for eight or more. A cash bar also will be available.

The “Christmas Sojourn” concert at 2 p.m. Sunday on the first floor of 93 Main St. features traditional seasonal music performed by the trio of Jessie and Greg Boardman and Ellen Gawler.
