GEORGETOWN — For the past year, artist Léa Peterson has made North Atlantic puffins the focus of her work.

Her collection of more than two dozen oil paintings called “Puffin Dialogues” will be displayed simultaneously this summer at three local galleries: the Old Post Office in Georgetown (opened May 23), Sebascodegan in Harpswell (starting June 29), and Center St. Arts Gallery in Bath (starting July 2).

“I’ve wanted to paint these beautiful seabirds since I took my first puffin boat tour on the Maine coast five years ago,” Peterson said in a news release.

Most of the collection will be on display at the Centre St. Arts Gallery, where Peterson will be the featured artist from July 2 to Aug. 24. A reception is planned for July 12, from 4 to 6 p.m.
