NEWCASTLE — The 19th annual Salad Days fundraiser will take place at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those attending Salad Days can select one of 500 individually crafted, unique salad plates by artist Tess Stilwell to fill to the brim with a bountiful, healthy lunch.
Each year, the Salad Days fundraiser draws up to 500 people to enjoy an afternoon of local food, ceramics, kids’ art projects, and lively music by The Jerks of Grass.
Coinciding with Salad Days is Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts Annual Invitational Pottery Sale. Admission to Salad Days is not required for those only interested in shopping at the sale. The Invitational Pottery Sale features work by top ceramic artists from Maine, New England and across the country. A full list of participants is available at watershedceramics.org.
In addition to Salad Days and the Invitational Pottery Sale, Watershed will have Jane Prentiss, generalist appraiser and auctioneer from Skinner Auction House, onsite to appraise art and antiques. Individuals interested in having work appraised or submitting pieces for consignment must reserve an appointment.

Admission to Salad Days is $35. Admission to the Pottery Sale only is free. Admission to Appraisals for Consignment with Skinner Auction House is by reservation only.
The Watershed campus opens at 10 a.m., plate selection starts at 11 a.m. and the lunch buffet will begin at 11:30. The pottery sale, live music, kid’s activities, raffle, and open artists’ studios continue until 3 p.m. Appraisals for Consignment with Skinner Auction House will continue until 4 p.m.
