GARDINER — Today, July 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., Water Street will come alive with music with Walk the Beat, a free night of music and commiserating.
Walk the Beat is a night of free music presented at participating businesses in downtown Gardiner. There will be a wide range of musical genres at a wide range of businesses. Restaurants, galleries, clothing stores, martial arts centers as well as Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center will be hosting musical groups from throughout Maine.
Blues, gypsy jazz, bluegrass, folk, contemporary and rock ’n’ roll will be on tap for free during the event. Audiences are invited to come and listen to live music and check out the many businesses in town. The night will culminate with a musician jam starting at 8 p.m. in the mini park next to Johnson Hall. In case of inclement weather the jam will be held inside Johnson Hall’s studio theater.
The event is free but tips will be gladly accepted by musicians.
