Zach Small tossed a one-hit shutout as the Richmond High School baseball team rolled to an 11-0 win over North Yarmouth Academy on Wednesday.

The Bobcats are 5-0 heading into Saturday’s contest against Forest Hills. The game will be played at Buckfield at 1 p.m.

Richmond used a pair of four-run frames to take control.

Small struck out eight and walked one. He also added a run-scoring triple.

Also at the plate for the Bobcats, Trystin Shea was 2- for-3 with three RBIs, while Andrew Vachon singled and doubled.

NYA fell to 1-4.

BRUNSWICK 3
MORSE 6

The Morse Shipbuilders improved to 4-5 with a home win over Brunswick, which fell to 3-6.

Jackson Walker earned the mound win, going six innings with three strikeouts. Ichino Honda allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings for the Dragons.

Joshua Doughty was 2-for- 2 with an RBI for Morse, while Parker Onorato scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Dalton Dickey, Henry Burnham and Zack Grant each doubled for the Dragons.

Brunswick visits Messalonskee on Friday at 4:15 p.m., while Morse entertains Gray-New Gloucester on Friday at 4 p.m.

The Greyhounds exploded for eight runs in the fifth inning en route to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Madison/Carrabec.

The win gives Lisbon a 7-0 mark heading into Friday’s key home matchup with undefeated Hall-Dale at 4 p.m.

Lisbon’s Nick Austin, Lucas Francis and Noah Austin combined to allow seven hits with five strikeouts.

Francis was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs to pace Lisbon’s 14-hit attack. DJ Douglass, Jonah Sautter and Brandon Keith-Williams chipped in two hits apiece, while Cole Bolduc drove in three runs and scored twice.

Jacob Atwood and Evan Holtzworth picked up two hits each for Bridgeway (4- 4).

MTN. VALLEY 22
WISCASSET 4

Garret Garbarini gave up three hits and struck out six in two innings of work and drew ample run support as Mountain Valley raced away to an MVC win over Wiscasset, which fell to 0-9 and visits Oak Hill on Friday at 4 p.m.

Dylan Desroches smashed a grand slam home run in the first inning for Mountain Valley (5-2) and finished with eight RBIs. Harden Dunning belted a solo home run in the fourth as the Falcons never eased off the gas.

The Wolverines utilized Matt Eckert as the first of three pitchers.

Softball

BATH — Morse broke open a one-run game with four runs in the sixth inning en route to a 7-2 KVAC win over Brunswick.

Dory Kulis struck out 11 and walked two for the mound win, while Brunswick hurler Shea Sullivan walked eight and struck out two.

Julia Goddard drove in three runs for the Shipbuilders, while Marissa Parks singled twice. Maddy Mitchell chipped in a two-run single, with Micailah Albertson picking up a double and Paige Faulkingham a single.

Hannah Fortier had a pair of hits, including a double, for Brunswick (0-9). Alexis Guptill, Sullivan, Bailey Hartill and Morgan Plourde each singled.

Morse improved to 5-4 and hosts Gray-New Gloucester on Friday at 4 p.m. The Dragons visit Messalonskee on Friday, also at 4 p.m.

FREEPORT 5

Alexa Koenig tripled home Abbye Koenig with the tying run in the sixth inning, then singled home Brooke Toothaker in the seventh to give the Falcons (2-6) a Western Maine Conference win over the Seagulls (2-5) in Freeport.

Old Orchard Beach took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth when Mackenzie Belanger and Morgan Howlett-Brown walked with the bases loaded.

Freeport has won two of its past three games and visits Lincoln Academy on Friday at 4 p.m.

MT. ARARAT 8
EL 10

After building a two-run advantage in the first three frames, Edward Little hung on to record a KVAC victory over Mt. Ararat at Auburn Suburban Field.

Grace Beaudet and Chantel Ouellette led the Red Eddies (5-4) with three hits each, while Emily Lashua, Jordan Cummings and Taylor Depot all belted out two hits.

Kayleigh Temple led the Eagles (1-6) with three hits, while Zoe Stilphen, Ema Hawkes and Belle Benner all pounded out two hits.

Ouellette earned the win for Edward Little, while Morgan Johnson took the loss.

Mt. Ararat hosts Camden Hills on Friday at 4:15 p.m.

LISBON 6
MADISON 7

Annie Worthen and Aishah Malloy each drove in two runs and had two hits in Madison’s MVC victory over Lisbon.

Sarah LeBlanc also had two hits for the Bulldogs. Marah Hall, Emily Edgerly and Kathryn Worthen each had a run batted in.

Madison jumped out to five-run bottom of the first inning after the Greyhounds went up 1-0 in the top half of the inning.

Lisbon scored twice in the top half of the third and three times in the sixth. Madison scored single runs in the fifth and sixth.

Carly Drischler had three hits and an RBI for Lisbon. Giana Russo had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Ivy Morris had two hits and an RBI, while Brittany Norman chipped in an RBI.

The Greyhounds are home against Hall-Dale on Friday at 4 p.m.

Girls lacrosse

BATH — Sophomore Emily Martin netted five goals to lead Morse to a 14-11 triumph over Edward Little at McMann Field.

The Shipbuilders (3-2) took a 9-5 lead at the midpoint. Junior Maddie McDonough contributed four goals for Morse.

Sophomore midfielder Lydia Celani was the leading scorer with six goals for the Red Eddies (1-3).

Goalie Erin Anderson made six saves for Edward Little, while goalie Zenaide McCarthy prevented 14 to earn the win in net for Morse, which visits St. Dom’s on Friday at 4 p.m.

LEWISTON 13
MT. ARARAT 1

Christine Chasse led a group of nine players to score goals as Lewiston hustled to a win over Mt. Ararat.

Chasse finished with three goals, while Grace Dumond and Rachel Ouellette each scored twice. Single tallies from Erin Lachance, Katie Lemieux, Gabby Wilson, Kelsie Lynch, Camree St. Hilaire and Sydney Hill completed the scoring.

Jessica Cloutier tallied the lone goal for Mt. Ararat, which fell to 0-6 and visits Cony on Monday at 4 p.m.

CeCe Racine made three saves for the Blue Devils (4- 1), while Amber Card turned aside 19 shots for the Eagles.

Boys lacrosse

BRUNSWICK — Aiden Glover tallied eight goals and two assists as Brunswick rolled to a 21-3 KVAC win over Morse.

Andrew Eno scored three goals for Brunswick, while Max Gramins added two goals and two assists. Jacob Belanger chipped in with two goals, with Nolan Lyne and Henry Doherty picking up a goal and a helper.

Connor Pendergast and Trey Curtis combined on 11 saves in the Brunswick cage.

Spencer Knowles scored two goals for Morse, which fell to 4-3 and visits Oxford Hills on Friday at 4 p.m. Netminder Dylan Maybee turned away 12 shots.

Brunswick improved to 7-1 and hosts Greely on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
