LISBON — A Westbrook man was killed in a motorcycle crash at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday night on Route 9.
Police say Mark Ormsby, 57, of Westbrook was operating a 2002 Harley Davidson northbound when, according to a witness, he ran off the road and struck a utility pole in the area of 360 Ridge Road.
Ormsby, who was not wearing a helmet, was declared dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to a press release issued by the police department Saturday. Investigating officers are Sgt. Harry Moore, Officer Ellen Jones and Officer Shawn Kelly.
Lisbon Fire Department responded to the crash with police and Ridge Road was reduced to one lane and closed intermittently while police investigated.
