BRUNSWICK
Started in the early 1800s by circuit riders, the Brunswick United Methodist Church has deep roots in the community.
For those who are new to the community — or are making their summer foray to the Midcoast — church officials are encouraging people to come out for their worship and events.
All are welcome to join the Sunday service, starting its summer service time of 9:30 a.m. on June 3, followed by fellowship at Agape Cafe after worship.
For all youth, there is a newly formed Senior High Youth Group that meets once a month at 5 p.m. Sunday. Call the church for details.
Younger children are invited to take part in the 2nd Kids Fun Night, a.k.a “Parents Night Out,” from 4- 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2. There will be fun and games, music with Gary Stevens on his guitar, puppets, movies and make-your-own pizza with “chef ” Barb Austin. Call the church to register.
Vacaton Bible School — the theme is “Pool Party: Make a Splash with Jesus” — will take place later in the summer, from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, through Friday, Aug. 24.
The church also partners with many local programs — such as Respite Care of Brunswick, Habitat for Humanity, Tedford Shelter, MidCoast Hunger Prevention Program, AA and various others — by offering meeting space, volunteers, and/or monetary assistance.
Opportunities for spiritual growth, volunteerism, and fellowship are always available, call the church and ask for Rev. Sharon Lovejoy or drop her an email at pastor@umcbrunswick.org.
Brunswick United Methodist Church is located at 320 Church Road in Brunswick. For more information, call (207) 725-2185 or visit umcbrunswick.org.
