Morse opened up a fourrun lead in the first inning and hung on late for a 7-3 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference high school softball win over Brunswick on Thursday.
The Shipbuilders improved to 11-4 with their seventh straight win and will look for eight in a row on Tuesday at home against Lincoln Academy (5 p.m.).
Dory Kulis pitched five scoreless frames for the victory, striking out 10 and permitting just two Brunswick (0-15) hits. Marissa Parks tossed the final two frames with two strikeouts.
Brook Kulis doubled, singled and drove in a run, while Dory Kulis and Micailah Albertson each singled twice for the ’Builders. Sierra Wallace and Paige Faulkingham each singled.
Shea Sullivan powered Brunswick with two singles, with Sabrina Armstrong adding a hit. Morgan Plourde pitched with three strikeouts, four walks and eight hits.
Brunswick closes out its season on Tuesday at Mt. Ararat (4:15 p.m.).
