BOOTHBAY HARBOR — An opening reception for two new shows will be held today, Aug. 2, at Gleason Fine Art.

The shows at the Boothbay Harbor gallery are “William Irvine: New Work,” playful and powerful maritime oils by the Brooklin artist, and “David Peterson: Boats,” Maine work boats in clay by the former Vinalhaven resident.

The reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. The shows run through Aug. 31.
